Greetings, Kermit the Frog here.
And today I'd like to tell you a little bit about the colour green.
Do you know what's green?
Well I am for one thing.
You see frogs are green, and I'm a frog.
And that means I'm green, you see.
It's not that easy bein' green.
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow, or gold.
Or something much more colorful like that.
It's not easy bein' green.
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over.
'Cause you're not standing out.
Like flashy sparkles in the water.
Or stars in the sky.
But green's the color of spring.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like a mountain.
Or important like a river.
Or tall like a tree.
When green is all there is to be.
It could make you wonder why.

I'm green, and it'll do fine.
It's beautiful, and I think it's what I want to be.
Muppet Kermit
Is het eigenlijk nog nodig om Kermit voor te stellen?
De officiele geboortedatum van Kermit is 9 mei 1955.
Jim Henson maakte hem uit een groene vrouwenjas van zijn moeder.
Toen was hij nog een soort hagedis. In de film "Hey Cinderella" uit 1969 speelt hij als rijdende kikker en in 1971 breekt hij door als nieuwsreporter in "Sesame Street."
In 1979 komt de eerste film van "The Muppets" uit en zie je Kermit banjo spelen op een lelieblad in het moeras. Over zijn leven in het moeras vertelde hij later het volgende:
You know, as a tadpole in the swamp, I had 3,265 brothers and sisters!"
Zijn beste vrienden zijn z'n neefje Robin en Fozzie Bear.
In de film "The Muppets Take Manhattan" (1984) trouwt Kermit met Miss Piggy.
Kermit krijgt in 2004 zijn ster op de Walk Of Fame
(6801 Hollywood Boulevard).
Muppet J.P. Grosse
De eerste keer dat de kijker kennis maakte met J.P. Grosse was in aflevering 29 (19.11.1977).
J.P. Grosse komt dan op bezoek in het theater en is van plan om het te slopen. Hij wilt er een stortplaats op openen.
J.P. Grosse: "There's more money in real junk than this junk you got here."
Gonzo is opgewonden als hij dit nieuws van Kermit te horen krijgt.
Gonzo: "It sounds like a great act."
Scooter probeert zijn oom te overtuigen om het theater niet te slopen maar herziet zijn mening als J.P. hem een job op de stortplaats aanbiedt.
Uiteindelijk besluit J.P. om het theater toch maar niet te slopen.
Het zal volgens hem binnen de kortste keren wel vanzelf instorten.
Commentaar van Waldorf en Stadler op het einde van het programma:
Waldorf: "This theater is solid as a rock. Watch this!"
Hij stampt twee keren op de vloer en valt erdoor...
Muppet Scooter
De Muppets treden op in het theater van J.P. Grose en zijn neefje Scooter solliciteert bij Kermitt voor een job als gopher (go-fer coffee, go-fer sandwiches...)
Kermit: "Your salary is twenty a week."
Scooter: "Could you make it twenty-five?"
Kermit: "Are you kidding? I can't afford it!"
Scooter: "Gee my uncle will be really disappointed."
Kermit: "How about thirty?"
